ABSTRACT

The National States, in our times recognized as the great powers, are giving new settings geopolitical to planetary management, especially the regions of the planet that keep on their territories large deposits of environmental assets such as water, biodiversity and air. Opposed to these globalized interests, the Union, the states and municipalities of the Amazon, should urge the revaluation of its geopolitical own and give birth, new strategies of occupation, development and defense of their territories, leaving the bowels of the actors regional, committed to the sustainability of life on earth. Mainstreaming cooperation at local scales, national and international territorial areas that are under the umbrella of sovereignty nationalized, as is Amazon, and seek a more solid legal structuring the relationship between the nations, would be a path toward the peaceful solution and necessary on an issue of this scale for Brazil and the world.

- INTRODUÇÃO

Diante de um mundo preocupado com a sobrevivência do próprio planeta; voltado aos cuidados que outrora não foram tomados em relação à manutenção da vida na terra; que vê suas reservas naturais e necessárias sendo consumidas com voracidade e em ritmos acelerados; nada mais previsível do que o interesse da comunidade internacional em se voltar para uma visão menos predatória e mais protecionista das grandes reservas planetária de recursos naturais que garantirão o futuro da vida na terra. Essa visão urge há bastante tempo e todos os seres humanos, sem exceção, devem abraçá-la, na intenção precípua de proteger nosso planeta de uma catástrofe inexoravelmente vindoura.
