ABSTRACT

Caries is a disease that has long been studied and conceptualized about its methods of development, installation, progression, destruction of the specific substrate, treatment, materials and methods differentiated for the Young and adult ages as well as methods and instruments to avoid it, over there. Expectant treatment is the most used in a clinical setting. It has been used for many years, with greater emphasis on young patients, where according to the literature studied and clinical samples the highest level of success of the technique could be observed. It is used as a clinical protocol for the amelioration of pain in cases of deep and very deep caries in children, young people and some young adults, where the clinical and radiographic conditions make possible its institution, mainly for promoting a disorganization of the microbiota present in the cavities cavity by partial or total removal (indirect pulp capping), sealing and isolation of the cavity with the buccal environment where the impossibility of contact with the substrate necessary for microbiota or the inactivation of the same and the adequacy of the medium, thus enabling the resumption of the form (by restoration of the dental element) and function (by the reduction of pain caused by mastication and movement of dentinal fluids by the contraposition in contact with sugars, temperature variations, impaction of food on the element with cavity open in the middle and especially for providing conditions of pulp response and deposition of reactive dentin thus distancing the pulp tissue from the carious lesion still present.
