ABSTRACT

The Cannabis sativa, commonly known as “marijuana” is considered as a drug to change the perception of people and act on the nervous system of the individual, so it is combated with police force almost everywhere on the planet. However, research and medical studies and the history indicate that marijuana is and can be used in a medicinal form in treatment of various diseases, providing significant patient improvement in their health. The active ingredient in marijuana is THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the cannabinoid is able to act in various symptoms of various diseases, considering the amount of THC present in cannabis. Being higher it is used for certain diseases and lower content for simpler diseases. It is scientifically proven that THC is effective in the treatment of AIDS, cancer, ADHD (attention deficit disorder with hyperactivity), multiple sclerosis, nausea from chemotherapy, anorexia, glaucoma, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, migraine, insomnia, fibromyalgia, Crohn's disease, arthritis, cachexia, Alzheimer's disease, epilepsy, Tourette's syndrome, muscular dystrophy and loss of appetite. Thus, there is a possibility that medicinal marijuana could be legalized and marketed in specific locations and on the monitoring and state monitoring in the treatment of these diseases. In Brazil they are prohibited recreational consumption, cultivation and use of medical marijuana. There are several countries where marijuana can be grown or marketed, both for medicinal purposes and for recreational use. They are: Australia, Canada, Chile, Spain, France, Holland, Israel, Italy, UK, Switzerland and Uruguay. In the US, federal laws allow the use and cultivation of marijuana for medical purposes in some states, marijuana has been legalized in these states is acquired marijuana in specialty stores, having to get a prescription to buy herb. The production of cannabis is also properly regulated by the laws. In Brazilian law, making, using or trafficking marijuana, there is a sentence of imprisonment of 5 to 15 years and a fine of R$ 500,00 to R$ 1.500,00.

INTRODUÇÃO

O uso de drogas sem orientação médica é perigoso, devido ao fato de conterem substâncias alucinógenas ou psicotrópicas e o vício das drogas constitui um problema social, pois prejudica os jovens no seu desenvolvimento físico, social e intelectual. A maconha, entre outras substâncias, é considerada como droga em quase todas as legislações mundiais.
